Review:

     I suppose that it’s almost too obvious to mention, but I love women. I love the way they look, the way they feel, the way they smell and the way they taste. I love pleasuring a woman and watching her face and her body move as she builds towards and finally explodes with orgasm. I’ve even been told once or twice that I’m fairly good at it, but it stands to reason that no man knows how to please a woman lover as well as another woman could. Sapphic Erotica is clearly a website that loves beautiful women as much as I do, and they know how to take full advantage of the beauty that women have to offer.

From looking at the free tour I am hit with two impressions: the women on Sapphic Erotica are gorgeous and the website actually seems true to its name and is hoping to be erotic in contrast to the lascivious goals of most other porn sites these days. There is something sweet about watching women have sex with each other as lovers would, deep passionate kisses and tender caresses, as opposed to the base lesbian fuck scenes that you would find elsewhere. Don’t get me wrong, as anyone who reads my reviews knows, I am more than a casual fan of debauchery and rough, wild, carnal sex. I’m just saying that there is room in porn for both approaches and Sapphic Erotica’s tour page caught me by surprise and worked for me at a deeper level.

Once in the member’s section I am treated to what looks like a tremendous amount of fabulous looking content. The layout is clear and it is easy to filter through the updates to find exclusive videos or high quality picture sets.The website boasts having 974 pic sets with an average of 115 pics per set. I loved that the sets were available in .zip format, but even better, their interface allows you select the pics that you want from the set and create a custom .zip file of only the pics that you want to download. So far so good.

Things take a turn for the worse when I move on to the videos. Since I’m not one who usually likes to watch the same video over and over, I usually prefer to stream movies rather than download them to my hard drive. I selected the most recent update (two gorgeous girls named Briget and Geena) and attempted to stream the .wmv version of the movie. No luck. Apparently I was missing the WVC1 video codec which, I found out after a little research, means that the .wmv videos will only play in Windows Media Player 11 or later. I like my current version just fine, thank you very much, so no .wmv on this site for me.

Things don’t get much better when I try to stream the .mpg version of the movie. After clicking the link, I wait 90 seconds by my watch before the website starts streaming the Quicktime version instead of the mpeg that I requested. Long wait and I don’t get what I was asking for? I guess I should be glad that this time I was at least able to watch the video, but I was annoyed and that’s not usually the frame of mind I’m hoping for when I sit down to watch some good porn. I went and checked out some of the other videos as well, just in case, but it was the same everywhere that I saw.

On the flipside, if you do want to download the movies, the download speeds are good, the action is hot and the women are truly fantastic. The video quality was good enough that I was able to watch most of the movies in full screen without too much pixilation. It does take some getting used to that there is no talking of any kind in the videos, though. I’ve become accustomed to at least some talk from the participants (even if it’s just a simple, “Yeah baby, just like that!”), but in these videos all you’ll hear are the girls’ heavy breaths, their occasional moans and whimpers and perhaps the sound of some chirping birds if it’s an outdoor scene. It wasn’t until I watched a few of these movies that it really hit me to what extent porn is, for me, an auditory as well as a visual experience. I did get used to it, but it was slightly unsettling at first.

The bottom line here is that if you want to download videos of lovely ladies pleasuring each other beautifully, the large volume of great content here is sure to be a worthwhile investment, and the 7 updates per week (!) should be enough to keep you coming back. If all you want to do is stream videos I can’t recommend this site, but there is not much else to complain about here. At $29.95 per month, Sapphic Erotica is not the cheapest porn on the web, but the quality of the content forces me to give it a pass and a recommendation.
